Medication Management During Inpatient Treatment

Medication can be an important part of psychiatric treatment. At Ripley Behavioral Health, our psychiatric providers work with each adult patient to develop a treatment plan based on their symptoms, health history, and individual needs.

During an inpatient stay, the care team reviews the medications a patient is already taking, monitors their response to treatment, and makes changes when clinically appropriate. Nurses administer prescribed medications and help patients understand their purpose, possible side effects, and how to take them safely.

Before discharge, the team reviews the patient’s medication plan and provides instructions for continuing care. Patients and families are encouraged to ask questions and share any concerns about medications throughout treatment.
